Ceramic band heaters are resistive electric heaters, the main feature of which is that the resistive wire is placed inside the ceramic pits. Due to this design feature, the maximum temperature of the heater can reach 500°C.

Description

Band ceramic heaters are produced for heating various parts of cylindrical equipment (extruders, injection molding machines, etc.) to a temperature of 500°C. Heaters are made in the form of a ring or a half ring, depending on the diameter of the heated equipment. 

The ceramic clamp heating element consists of a heating element (rheostat wire or tape), an insulator (ceramic blocks), a protective casing (stainless steel sheet), a heat-resistant output to choose from, and it is also possible to add a thermocouple, make holes and equip with a mounting system.

Clamp ceramic heater is made to order – for the production equipment of the client. Each heating element manufactured by Intmax undergoes strict control for compliance with standards.

Ceramic annular and semi-annular heaters are used for heating equipment with cylindrical surfaces. The ceramic heater is made of a heater – a rheostatic wire, an insulator in the form of ceramic bones, and a stainless steel body will protect the heater from mechanical damage.

The heating temperature of the ceramic ring heater is 500ºС, and the electric power 
is 6-9 W/cm².

Ceramic clamp heaters can be annular and semi-annular, with a heater on the inside and outside. The heater is manufactured according to the drawings and may have cutouts and holes for fasteners.

Installation and operating conditions

  • The design of the heater does not allow for a complete fit of the surface, however, sufficient crimping force must be provided.
  • The metal case provides protection against mechanical damage only to the rear side of the heater, while the ends remain unprotected. In this regard, the heater is leaky and cannot work in both humid and dusty environments. With a slight ingress of moisture, conductive dust or plastic into the gap between the insulators, the heater fails.
