Annular metal heaters are made in a stainless steel casing, which are used to heat cylindrical surfaces. Heat-resistant micanite is used as an insulator, and a resistor tape acts as a heater. The operating temperature of heating is 350ºС, with a maximum power of 4 W/cm².

Ceramic annular and semi-annular heaters are used for heating equipment with cylindrical surfaces. The ceramic heater is made of a heater – a rheostatic wire, an insulator in the form of ceramic bones, and a stainless steel body will protect the heater from mechanical damage.
The heating temperature of the ceramic ring heater is 500ºС, and the electric power is 6-9 W/cm².

Band heaters produce uniform and high temperature heating of the cylindrical parts of the equipment. With their help, complete homogenization of materials is achieved and the risk of filter clogging is reduced. The design of a clamp-on heating element of a standard assembly includes: a resistive spiral or tape, an insulator, a housing, leads and, if necessary, a thermocouple. Depending on the temperature requirements, different types of ring heaters are used with a maximum thermal output from 350°C to 500°C. Tight contact of the heater with the cylinder ensures high-quality heat transfer and long service life of the device. For fasteners, it is recommended to use tie elements or “lugs”. Any type of clamp heater can be made to order in different sizes and diameters. If necessary, additional cutouts and grooves are made.

Intmax offers band and semi-annular metal heaters according to customer drawings. Additionally, you can order ring heaters with holes and cutouts of various shapes and sizes. Ring heaters can be equipped with a temperature control sensor – a thermocouple.

Advantages of band micanite heaters:

  • Low cost. Associated with low production costs for ring-type heaters.
  • Durability. The design is made of durable materials that are resistant to temperature, moisture and other factors.
  • Design flexibility, wide variety of shapes and sizes. Heating elements for extruders can have different lengths, external and internal diameters. Can be supplemented with fasteners and electrical connections.
  • High heating rate and effective maintenance of the required temperature.
  • Heaters for extruders are equipped with an insulating casing or a protective coating. It provides higher energy efficiency, since in the absence of insulation, up to 40% of the heat goes into the atmosphere.

Ring heaters are mounted from the end surface. If it is impossible to use them, semi-circular models are used. The main requirement for heaters is to ensure tight contact between the surfaces of the working element and the heating element. To do this, before installation, bumps, protrusions and roughness are removed from the heated surface. To ensure uniform heat transfer over the entire working surface, crimping devices and high-temperature paste are used.
