Ceramic heating elements (they are also called cylindrical ceramic heaters) are a heater in which a rheostat wire is placed in a cylindrical ceramic insulator. They are designed for heating various gases and liquids.

Description
Ceramic Steatite Element is made using Rescal high resistance resistive wire, which is placed in the grooves of special cylindrical ceramic elements. The mentioned ceramic elements are mounted in series, which makes it possible to manufacture a heater of the required length.
The spiral of cylindrical heating elements is open, therefore, during the operation of the heating element, it is necessary to ensure the absence of polluting materials that can affect the operation of the heating element (rust, oil, etc.).
Ceramic heating elements can be used both for heating gases (direct heating) and for heating liquids (indirect heating). When using a ceramic heating element as an indirect liquid heater, it is necessary to place it in a metal, ceramic or other shell (it is also called a “glass”). The choice of glass material depends on the type of liquid being heated.
Installation in the shell will provide the heating element with a number of advantages:
- The ability to heat various types of liquids (including alkalis and acids);
- Easy and quick replacement of the heater;
- Ability to carry out installation work even in conditions of a liquid-filled system.
If necessary, ceramic heating elements can be made with the following design features:
- Uneven distribution of power along the length of the heater;
- Possibility of manufacturing a heating element with a “cold zone” (The length of the cold zone (L m) is determined by the customer).
